  • The site navigation will be laid out in differnet locations depending on the width of the browser.

  • Columns
  • A responsive site will scale headlines, images, text and ads in the right proportions while maintaing the integrity of the design when viewed on smaller devices.

  • Calls to Action
  • Good responsive design considers the critical calls to action that should be distinctly displayed regardless of screen size.

  • Branding
  • Scaling and rearranging elements on a site can cause unique branding to lose their specific design. This is why is it important to design in accordance to 3 or 4 widths. A designer needs to adjust accordingly to make sure the design reflects the brand in all sizes.

  • Padding and White Space
  • When designing for a responsive site, the information should be presented in a visually pleasing manner, regardless of screen size.

    Responsive design is a tool.

    As the web continue to evolve it is becoming more clear that the main driver to a website is solid, valuable,and sharable content.
